CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Fred Willard, who starred in comedic films such as “Best in Show,” “Waiting for Guffman” and “This Is Spinal Tap,” has died. He was 86.
Willard, who was a Second City alum and was often known for funny characters, died of natural causes, his rep told Rolling Stone.
His daughter Hope Willard confirmed the death on her Twitter, saying her father "kept moving, working and making us happy until the very end."

May 16, 2020 Willard also showed off his comedic chops on television shows like "Everybody Loves Raymond" and "Modern Family." He was also part of the new Steve Carell Netflix series “Space Force" which is set to air May 29 and is the last film performance by the actor.
Willard was born in Shaker Heights, Ohio and served in the Army before turning to stage acting in the late 1950s. He was also known for being a voice actor, a writer and a versatile comedian.
