CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Friends and family of a South Side woman honored her Tuesday with a luncheon in Bronzeville to mark her 100th birthday.

Of course, the question for Grozelia Clark -- and anyone else born in 1919 – is this: What's the secret to living to 100?

"I was just like any other person. I'd go out.  I'd drink. I'd have me a ball. I'd go to dances. I did the same things other young people did.

"But after I got older, I knew it wasn't helping me none. So, I had to stop. I stopped all of it."

Someone at the table interjects: "Except your wine."

"Well, I have to drink that," laughs Clark.  "That helps me make it."

WBBM: You have to drink what?

"I drink Manischewitz red wine. And my doctor told me I could drink a glass like that."

WBBM: So today are you going to have a couple of glasses?

"Well, I can't have it today. I'll tell you why. I had it yesterday, and I had quite a few of them Sunday.”

WBBM: Can I just ask you... Is there one thing you have not done or a person you have not met in your 100 years that you would like to do -- or meet?

"No," she replied. "I had three husbands and buried all three of them. And I would like for two of them to come back. If I could get two of them back, it would be wonderful. Because they was really nice to me.”

The birthday celebration was held at Pearl's Place restaurant in the 3900 block of South Michigan.
