The city unveiled a new virtual field trip initiative to keep students engaged and learning while they stay at home e-learning during the pandemic.
Those wanting to learn more about coral reefs, sharks, penguins and the importance of backyard diversity can follow Lightfoot along the virtual tour and even learn more from prepared fact sheets found online.
"This is an awesome opportunity for us to see the magic of the Shedd and bring some content to people," Lightfoot said in episode 1."These are unusual times and we wanted to make sure we brought the greatness of the Shedd to you while you are staying home and saving lives."
Students and viewers alike can expect new videos released on YouTube every Wednesday of other top Chicago institutions to help pass the time, get educated and spend some time with the mayor.
