Two Chicago police officers were injured in a hit-and-run accident early Thursday in South Austin on the West Side.
The officers were in a marked car going east on Lake Street about 1:40 a.m. when a black Dodge Charger going north on Lavergne Avenue struck their passenger side after "disobeying a traffic signal," Chicago police said.
The officers were taken to a hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening, officials said.
The Charger fled the scene and no one was in custody.
