CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Six adults and two minors were hospitalized following a two-car, rollover crash Tuesday night on the North Side, Chicago Fire Department officials said.
CFD responded to the crash near Kimball and Peterson Avenues at about 8 p.m., a department spokesman said.
The fire department said all eight injured people were taken in critical condition to various trauma centers, including St. Francis Hospital, Lutheran General, Illinois Masonic Hospital and Lurie Children's Hospital.
One of the adults taken to St. Francis Hospital was in "pretty grave" condition, the spokesman said.
Specific ages of those injured in the crash were not released. Peterson Avenue buses were temporarily rerouted following the accident.
Chicago police will be investigating the cause of the crash.
