(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — The body of a 5-year-old boy, found in a suitcase in April, has been identified, and Indiana State Police are looking for his mother.

Police said the body was found by a mushroom hunter in the southern Indiana woods inside of “a distinctive Las Vegas-themed hard-shell suitcase.”

Detectives, according to state police, had little to work with.

The coroner determined the cause of death was an "electrolyte imbalance," likely caused by “viral gastroenteritis."

State police said no crime scene investigation technologies were spared in the investigation.

Including DNA, electronic communications, social media.

In the end, police said, physical evidence led to the identities of two women, including the boy’s mother, from Atlanta.

She was last known to be in Los Angeles, according to police. She’s identified as 37-year-old Dejaune Ludie Anderson. They said she travels a lot and has not been found.

They arrested the second suspect, 40-year-old Dawn Coleman, in San Francisco.

Both were charged with neglect of a dependent resulting in death, as well as obstruction of justice.

Police said they also identified the boy’s biological father.
