CAROL STREAM (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - The family of a Carol Stream man who was killed by police two weeks ago has seen some of the body camera video from the shooting and is demanding investigators release all of it to the public.
Relatives of Isaac Goodlow III. say they are devastated by the videos they’ve seen of the Feb. 3 shooting. They say the 30-year-old was unarmed and quiet in his bedroom when he was killed, calling the officers’ actions “depraved, reckless and in violation of Isaac’s constitutional rights.”
His mother told CBS-2 last week that police told them Goodlow threw something at officers.
“They shot my son down like a dog. They shot him down like a dog, like he wouldn’t even a human being. Isaac was a good man, we was real close, real close,” she said.
Carol Stream Police say two officers shot Goodlow during a tense and rapidly evolving situation while responding to a domestic violence call.
His family believes he was having a mental health crisis and wants the officers prosecuted. They are on leave during the investigation.
