(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — A high-speed police chase begins with a northwest Indiana man dragging an officer with his car.
Lowell Police had pulled over 36-year-old Michael Correa for speeding on Jan. 25.
During their interaction, the officer reportedly smelled a strong odor of alcohol.
After rolling his window up and refusing to roll it back down, the officer managed to get Correa's door open, but he sped off, dragging the officer and injuring his hand.
A chase followed, with Correa reportedly topping speeds of 100 mph while driving the wrong way down I-65 with his lights off.
Once stopped, he was tased and placed into custody, but not before threatening to beat the officers.
Correa, who Lowell Police say has a history of resisting law enforcement, faces six Felonies and two misdemeanors including: battery by means of a deadly weapon and resisting law enforcement- causing bodily injury.
