CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A COVID-19 outbreak has hit the NBC show "Chicago Fire" for a second time.

Production of "Chicago Fire" is on a two-week hiatus, because several people involved in the show have tested positive for COVID-19.

Chicago's Department of Public Health Commissioner Dr. Allison Arwady said they have been working with the TV and film industry, which involves production team members coming in from out of state.

"There's actually been quite a lot of work with the TV and film industry. There are, as you know, can be exemptions from the travel order, particularly where there are specific testing and sort of other control regimens that are in place," she said.

"Chicago Fire" has had to stop production once before back in March because of COVID-19. It also caused a pause in production of "Chicago Med" several weeks ago.

According to Deadline, "Chicago Med" was the first 'One Chicago' show to restart production Sept. 22 in Chicago. "Chicago Fire" and "Chicago P.D." followed starting production on Oct. 6.

Chicago Fire, Chicago P.D. and Chicago Med all premiered their new seasons Wednesday, Nov. 11.
