CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Chicago Public Schools families who want to send their students to selective enrollment high schools or those outside their neighborhoods next year only have until Thursday to submit applications.
The November 9 deadline comes a month earlier than normal and it follows rescheduling of entrance exams due to technical problems. In light of that, CPS is giving families more time to re-rank their school choices.
They have until December 1 to adjust their rankings after receiving results of the high school admissions test or HSAT. The new option aims to give students more information to make.
The district cut the test time from two and a half hours to one and offered it in several languages including Spanish, Arabic, Mandarin, Urdu and Polish - in addition to English.
