Starting Sunday, August 23, the CTA will be adding three bus routes to the Frequent Network, which currently features 20 routes that provide service every 10 minutes.

The #35 31st/35th, the #74 Fullerton and the #85 Central buses will be joining the Frequent Network Sunday, followed by the #8 Halsted bus in December.

In addition to expanding the Frequent Network, the CTA will also be extending service hours and frequency to seven other routes, including the #3 King Drive, the #70 Division, and #74 Fullerton buses.

The agency said riders will see the most service improvements during midday, evening and weekend hours.

The CTA said the expansions improve on the agency's Bus Vision Framing Report, which analyzed CTA bus service and identified much needed service improvements on weekends, evenings and midday to ensure CTA’s buses better serve riders, especially low-income and minority riders.
