DOLTON (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A Dolton Village Board meeting tonight will be the first since a report about Mayor Tiffany Henyard came out.
Henyard said she might not attend that meeting after a brawl broke out at a Thornton Township board meeting last week.
She's calling for more security at this meeting, which will be the first since former Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot released a report on the village and Henyard's spending.
Presented in front of Dolton residents, the report found that at one point during Henyard's tenure expenses reached a deficit of $3.65 million.
Lightfoot said many of the expenses were not approved by trustees, though Henyard said they were, and that she was not the only one making purchases.
Henyard is seeking to be re-elected as Dolton's mayor.
The primary will take place later this month.
