High nitrate levels were found in drinking water in the south suburbs, making the water unsafe for infants less than six-months-old, but okay for anyone older to drink.
That's according to the water supplier Aqua Water.
The company says the alert is for customers served by the Kankakee Water Treatment Plant.
Officials say bottled water will be available during the alert in Kankakee, Manteno and University Park for families with infants.
