FOREST PARK (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — About 50 people pulled up lawn chairs or leaned against trees outside of a Forest Park residence last week during the town’s most recent neighborhood concert, known as “Stoop Sessions.”
Neighbors gathered around the stoop — in this case, the front porch of an old home not far from Madison Street — to watch Shannon Adams and Chris Palmerin perform, free of charge.
Adams sang and played piano while Palmerin played the drums.
“We don’t always totally know what we’re going to get,” Adams said. “Sometimes there’s a few people, sometimes it’s more people walking by.”
Palmerin said that, as a performer, he simply tries to “vibe off the crowd.”
“The crowd was digging it,” he said. “Everyone seemed to really enjoy it and relax. The tunes we played tonight just emphasized the summer vibe.”
Adams said they don’t always show up with an exact setlist in mind.
“We get there, see what we have to work with, and we go with it,” Adams said.
Forest Park’s next Stoop Session will take place on Aug. 8, with performances from Grzelak and Medina.
