ST. CHARLES (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A west suburban business group has a message for people who have returned to their favorite restaurants: Be patient.
The St. Charles Business Alliance said people have flocked back to restaurants in the western suburb, but that the restaurants are hurting, because not enough people want to fill vacant positions, such as hosts and hostesses, waitstaff, and line-cooks.
Alliance Marketing Manager Alyssa Feulner said that has made service slower, so the Alliance is urging customers to be patient.
"Our restaurant managers and owners are really working tirelessly to hire, train, just stay afloat right now with the lack of employees looking for jobs," she said.
"Continue to support the restaurants, but understand that things, like you said, may be a little bit slower, you may have to wait a little longer for a table, just because they may not have someone to clean up right away."
For those interested in finding work, the St. Charles Business Alliance has a job openings page under the COVID-19 heading on its website home page: stcalliance.org.
