ANN ARBOR, MICH. (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A Chicago man is facing a murder charge in Michigan from 1982.

Michigan officials said that after a lengthy extradition process 76-year old Isiah Williams is now in custody in Michigan and will face trial in the presumed murder of his eight-month old daughter.

Attorney General Dana Nessel said Williams allegedly took Olisa Williams from her mother’s arms in April 1982 in Ohio and took the girl to Michigan.

The infant was allegedly seen with Williams that summer but then never again.

The Detroit Free Press had reported that in some instances, including in court, Williams claimed that a 1994 car crash erased his memory of the time when the infant disappeared.
