
CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A liquor store employee fought back during an attempted robbery on Chicago’s Far North Side Monday night.
Chicago police said two robbers pointed guns at a clerk and demanded money from the register at a liquor store in Little India, near California and Rosemont. It was shortly after 10:30 p.m., and police said the 44-year-old clerk struggled with the gunman, who grabbed a bottle and hit the employee in the head.
The employee pulled out a gun and shot at the robbers who shot back before taking off.
Police said the clerk went to the hospital initially in serious condition with multiple cuts to his head.
No one is in custody.
