(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — The Chicago Transit Board will be moving forward with major changes to the Clark/Lake Loop elevated station.

On Wednesday, the CTA announced that redeveloping the former James R. Thompson Center will result in some major changes to the Loop station.

The changes include relocating the station entrance to the northeast corner on Clark Street.

The project will take place in phases beginning in November 2025 and continuing through late 2026.

The Clark/Lake stop is one of the busiest CTA stations. It services the Brown, Green, Orange, Pink and Purple lines at the elevated platform. The CTA reports it sees an average of around 9,000 weekday entries.
