The Chicago Architecture Center is moving ahead with its 10th Annual "Open House Chicago" architectural tours, with changes due to COVID-19.
The event previously has enjoyed a reputation for giving the public up-close access to architectural gems.
This year’s driving, biking or walking tours will feature more than 20 neighborhoods in the city as well as Evanston and Oak Park, says Hallie Rosen, the center's director of program operations.
The tours will be self-guided, with free materials available on the Open House Chicago website or with an app available for smart phones.
She says there will also be virtual tours for those who want to explore architecture from home.
Open House Chicago runs from Oct. 16 through Oct. 25 for the general public.
