The charges against Prakash Patel of Orland Park include Reckless Homicide and two counts of Aggravated Reckless Driving.
He also faces 14 additional traffic violations of the Illinois Vehicle Code.
Orland Park Police say on June 29th, Patel was driving fast when he crashed into three vehicles at 149th Street and LaGrange Road.
One of those vehicles struck a 66-year-old male pedestrian waiting at a bus stop.
He died at the scene.
After an investigation, Orland Park Police arrested Patel on August 19th without incident.
