(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — The Cook County Sheriff's Office has released images of men wanted for a "ruse burglary" that occurred last week in unincorporated New Trier Township.

The burglary occurred Sept. at a home in the 0-100 block of North Indiana Hill Road, near Kenilworth.

The Sheriff's office says a man went to the resident and told an 81-year-old woman he was a construction worker who needed to show her something outside.

As they stepped out of sight, four other men went inside.

One was spotted by an 82-year-old man in the home. He told investigators the burglar said there was a water-main break outside and he needed to check the sink.

The others, meanwhile, were looking for valuables. The sheriff's office said the intruders left about 10 minutes later. The couple found that jewelry had been taken.

The suspects were driving an SUV with an Xfinity logo on the side.

The men were wearing masks so their faces are not entirely visible in images from a security camera.

Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff's office at 708-865-4896.
