CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A shooting in the South Loop Thursday afternoon left an 18-year-old dead and another wounded.

It was about 3:30 p.m. at State and Cullerton-a couple blocks from the Central District police station.

The two were sitting in a Jeep when shots were fired from a Kia. One was killed. The second has a hand wound.

Lena Phillips lives nearby. She told CBS 2 that there was a bystander who dove for cover.

"I heard about four or five gunshots," she said. "When I looked out the window, I looked to the north of me, and I saw a gentleman getting up off the ground."

The Kia, which police said was stolen, was found abandoned nearby. No one is in custody at this time.
