(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — The University of Chicago Police Department is urging students to remain vigilant after an armed robbery took place on campus early Sunday morning.
A security alert sent out by University of Chicago Campus Police detailed an armed robbery that happened just before 12:30 a.m. Sunday, targeting two students walking near 55th Street and University Avenue on the Hyde Park campus.
Three suspects, driving in a black sedan, got out of the vehicle to rob the students at gunpoint campus.
Police say the offenders used handguns. No one was injured.
The robbers drove eastbound on 55th Street after taking the victims’ property.
