Fields' status Thursday was a sign that he could miss a second straight game due to the ailment. The Bears will reveal their game designations Friday ahead of hosting the Giants on Sunday at Soldier Field.

Veteran quarterback Andy Dalton (groin) was a full participant in practice Thursday. He'll start at quarterback for the Bears if Fields is unable to play. Dalton and Fields both missed Chicago's win at Seattle last Sunday, when third-string quarterback Nick Foles led the Bears to a 25-24 comeback win.

Bears offensive coordinator Bill Lazor declined to reveal Thursday what the team's plan is at quarterback. Coach Matt Nagy is scheduled to speak with reporters Friday.

Fields, 22, has started 10 this season while dealing with multiple injuries. He has completed 58.9% of his passes for 1,870 yards, seven touchdowns and 10 interceptions. Dalton, 34, has started in four games for the Bears, completing 64.1% of his passes for 1,017 yards, six touchdowns and six interceptions.

The Bears also listed offensive tackle Jason Peters (ankle) as a limited participant in practice. Receiver Marquise Goodwin (illness) and tight end J.P. Holtz (personal) didn't practice.

The Bears (5-10) host the Giants (4-11) on Sunday at Soldier Field, with kickoff set for noon.
