Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - What to do when you celebrate your 104th birthday during a pandemic? Leave it to the Buffalo Police.
Ola Snell celebrated her 104th birthday Saturday at the Brent Manor Apartments in Buffalo, and thanks to the men and women of the Buffalo Police Department, she didn't celebrate alone.
Mrs. Snell emerged from the front door of her building to a fleet of Buffalo Police vehicles and officers cheering and celebrating. A colorful sign taped to the side of a patrol car read "Happy 104th birthday Ola" as officers and Mayor Byron Brown sang 'Happy Birthday'.
Mayor Brown presented Ola with a gift bag containing some useful items during the coronavirus outbreak, including wipes, hand sanitizer and masks.
"This is community policing at the highest level", said Mayor Brown.
