ALBANY, N.Y. (WBEN/AP) — Gov. Andrew Cuomo threatens action against an international body that regulates waterways between the United States and Canada if it doesn't reimburse his state for costs linked to record flooding around Lake Ontario.
The Democratic governor says the International Joint Commission took little preventative action after the 2017 floods. And Cuomo says recent high waters from a massive snowpack and spring rains have again damaged homes, businesses and property.
The commission says any rise in the water level is now expected to be minor or even decline.
