BUFFALO, N.Y. (WBEN) - Demolition of the former Shoreline Apartments complex will begin on Thursday morning.
Demolition of the 48 units will be begin on the north end of the site, furthest from City Hall, and proceed south. Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown said demolition should take up to four months and finish around Memorial Day.
Demolition officially starts tomorrow morning and will take several months to finish. There’s a concern of homeless people inside and there will be daily sweeps to ensure there’s nobody there. In the spring, construction will begin on new homes, similar to what’s next door. https://t.co/vSp26uwXKI pic.twitter.com/N1nre9o4JC

January 22, 2020 "These structures never worked from the beginning," Norstar Development Senior Vice President, Linda Goodman, said. "The construction was flawed. It wasn't good housing. Everybody recognized it."
New homes will be placed there that will be in a similar mold as the housing that is next to the former apartment complex. Goodman said it will be affordable to middle-income housing.
