BUFFALO, N.Y. (WBEN) - The New York State DMV announced that the license plate option featuring Niagara Falls and the New York City Skyline is the winning option.
Governor Andrew Cuomo introduced the five plate designs last month. The new plates would replace ones that are ten years or older. It will cost $25 to replace the plates, though there has been pushback to the governor in response to the replacement program. The governor said the plates fees are being used because of the new technology with cashless tolling that couldn't read the deteriorating license plates.
The new plates will be available next April.
