BUFFALO (WBEN) - On Thursday, FeedMore WNY held a supplemental food distribution event at Kleinhans Music Hall.
"It has been pretty steady we started a little bit before 11 o'clock this morning," she said, noting that distribution ended around 2 p.m.
"This even in and of itself is just an incredible site to behold," said Kennedy. "It is the perfect example of the City of Good Neighbors coming together, banding together amid a severe crisis in our community and across the entire global community to give back to the needy folks here in Western New York."
According to McKenna, the need for food has increased over the past few weeks.
"We're really unsure of what the real need is in the community," she said. "So many people have lost their jobs recently, and we know that the need has increased, but we really don't know how much. So, we're here to provide as much assistance as we can and to provide whatever the community needs."
McKenna adds that FeedMore WNY is currently doing well with their food supply, but they're now seeking donations and volunteers.
"There is a greater need, but we are ready for it," said McKenna. "There is food in the food supply; we're getting some supplemental funding from the federal government, and we plan to continue to distribute food as long as we can."
