South Wales, NY (WBEN) The Gow School has sent letters to alumni and parents after receiving a claim of sexual misconduct by a teacher from a student in the 1990s. The letter urged any victimized students to get in touch with the school's investigating attorney in Buffalo.
The letter, from Headmaster M. Bradley Rogers Jr. and board President John Bullock, says in February a former student who attended Gow more than 25 years ago called and detailed misconduct by a former teacher. "We take this report seriously and we commend the former student for coming forward with difficult revelations," the letter says.
Gow School says Julia Hilliker, of the Hodgson Russ law firm in Buffalo, opened an investigation of the first claim, and has reviewed faculty and student personnel files and investigated all aspects of the reported misconduct.
