Cheektowaga, N.Y. (WBEN) - An accidental shooting inside Texas de Brazil restaurant at the Walden Galleria Thursday evening.
Cheektowaga Police say 19 year old Anthony Ciccarelli of Tonawanda was dining with his girlfriend when he reached into the front pocket of his pants to pay the bill and a pistol discharged. The bullet grazed his girlfriend's leg.
The couple left the restaurant to seek medical care and while enroute, Ciccarelli pulled into a parking lot at Walden Avenue and Galleria Drive where the woman called Cheektowaga Police, seeking medical assistance.
Officers arrived and placed a tourniquet on her leg.
The woman was transported to ECMC with non-life threatening injuries.
Ciccarelli has been charged with reckless endangerment and criminal possession of a weapon. The Erie County DA's office says the handgun was stolen from Niagara Falls and was not registered to Ciccarelli.
Ciccarelli is scheduled to return on Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at 8:30 a.m. for a felony hearing. Justice Stevens set bail at $1,500 cash or $5,000 bond.
If convicted on the charge, Ciccarelli faces a maximum of 7 years in prison.
