Buffalo, NY (WBEN) 39-year-old Jevon Gaiter has been arraigned before State Supreme Court Justice Russell P. Buscaglia on an indictment charging him with one count of Murder in the Second Degree.
Prosecutors say on September 21st, at approximately 1 a.m.,Gaiter fatally stabbed 59-year-old Mark Bottita in the vicinity of Tonawanda and Vulcan Streets in the Town of Tonawanda. The victim collapsed outside of a nearby convenience store and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Gaiter is scheduled to return on Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at 9:30 a.m. for a pre-trial hearing. He remains held without bail.
If convicted on the charge, he faces a maximum of 25 years to life in prison.
