BUFFALO, N.Y. (WBEN) - The field of republican candidates for the 27th congressional district continues to grow.
On Friday, New York State Senator Chris Jacobs announced his candidacy for the district, joining Erie County Comptroller Stefan Mychajliw in the field. Incumbent Congressman Chris Collins has not indicated whether or not he will seek re-election. The congressman is under a federal indictment for insider trading.
"There is only one way to get into a political race and that is all in," Caputo told WBEN's David Bellavia. "When you run for political office you get raked over the coals and you get people trying to expose you and lie about you. But David, I've been put through that for two years. I'm a completely vetted person by now."
When asked on a scale of one to ten if he is running, Caputo said he is a five.
"I've been a one or negative one all my life," Caputo said.
