Slow Roll Tonight Looks to Highlight Impact of the 33

Buffalo, NY (WBEN) - Another Slow Roll tonight in the City of Buffalo.

This time, the ride is being dubbed the restore our community ride and will go through the MLK Park and Hamlin Park neighborhoods

Justin Booth of Go-Bike Buffalo says' there's an effort to shed light on the impact of the Scajaquada and 33 Expressways on the neighboring community.

"Whenever you think about a roadway you have to think about the adjacent land uses and how that supports the dynamic in that community," Booth said. "You've go a lot of other issues impacting the neighborhoods around the 33. We're seeing higher rates of particulates in the air which leads to more respiratory diseases. We're seeing higher rates of cancer in those areas. What is the indirect impacts of some of our legacy infrastructure?"

The ride tonight begins at the Buffalo Museum of Science with registration beginning at 5:30 and the 10-mile ride beginning at 6:30.

If you are driving in that area, parts of Humboldt, East Delavan, Fillmore, East Utica, East Ferry, Genesee, Best and Sycamore may be impacted by the ride at that time.
