Another banking related acquisition about to be finalized. Evans Bancorp Inc. plans to acquire FSB Bancorp Inc. in Fairport. Business First reporting the $34.7 million deal will create a combined organization with $1.8 billion in assets, $1.5 billions in deposits and 20 branches. Pending regulatory approval, the transaction is expected to close in the second quarter.
Carrols Restaurant Group has bought the Burger King outlet in the Thruway Mall for a reported $1.2 million. According to Business First, Carrols owns the majority of the locally operated Burger Kings. The company also owns 61 Popeyes restaurants.
Global beverage company FIFCO, based in Costa Rica, has named Rich Andrews CEO of FIFCO USA. The U-S base for the company is in Rochester. Among its holdings are Labatt USA in Buffalo and the Genesee Brewing Company in Rochester.
Kissing Bridge officially opens for skiing at 4pm today, for its 60th season of skiing and snowboarding. There are 2 lifts and 5 slopes and 2 terrain parks available at their Central Area. Additional slopes are expected to open soon.
