Orchard Park, N.Y. (WGR Sports Radio 550/WBEN) - Buffalo Bills running back James Cook has been named the AFC’s Offensive Player of the Month for September.

Cook has had an impressive start to the 2025 season through the first four games, rushing for 401 yards on 75 carries, averaging 5.35 yards per-attempt. He’s also caught 12 balls for 89 yards, combining for 490 total yards from scrimmage.

Through the first four weeks, Cook is currently second in the league in rushing yards and first in rushing touchdowns (5). He's also the second running back in Bills history to O.J. Simpson to surpass 100-plus scrimmage yards in each of the first four games of a season.

The 26-year-old also set a new franchise record by scoring a touchdown in eight-straight regular season games.

He joins Hall of Fame running back Thurman Thomas (November of 1991) as the only Bills running back to ever earn AFC Offensive Player of the Month honors.
