Buffalo Bills starting quarterback Josh Allen is day-to-day with a foot sprain, according to head coach Sean McDermott.
It was reported by NFL Network’s Ian Rappaport Monday morning that Allen suffered a minor case of “turf toe. When asked if that were accurate on his Monday media zoom call, McDermott said a “foot sprain” was the term given to him by his medical staff.
McDermott added they will see how Allen’s foot responds to treatment throughout the week before making any determinations and his playing status next Sunday against the Carolina Panthers.
Allen suffered the injury on a long run in the fourth quarter of the team’s 33-27 overtime loss at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday. He limped off the field and had his foot re-taped by trainers before re-entering the game and ultimately finishing.
There were several times he still took off and ran despite the injury, finishing the game with 308 yards passing and 109 rushing, becoming just the fourth player in NFL history to eclipse 300 yards passing and 100 yards rushing in a single contest.
