Bills say they're focused on task at hand

McDermott: "We haven't even qualified for the playoffs."

BUFFALO (WBEN) - It's a virtual lock that the Bills will win the AFC East for the first time in 25 years. According to 538, the Bills currently have a 99% chance to win the division, as all it would require is one more Bills victory or one more Dolphins loss for the rest of the season.

Get this: 538 also lists the Bills as the fourth most likely team to win the Super Bowl, giving them a 7% chance.

"We're focused on number-11 right now," said Head Coach Sean McDermott, saying he doesn't want his team to think they've suddenly reached the summit. "We haven't even qualified for the playoffs, so the only thing we've earned at this point is all that noise - we have to block that out, honestly. We just really have to go back to the vault, insulate ourselves from all that noise and focus on the job."

Josh Allen and Jordan Poyer also weighed in on what a division title would mean after two-and-a-half decades.

"This division has been dominated by a team from Foxboro for a long time, and they've had a lot of sustained success, and that's the mold, that's what people want to be - how they do it and how they've done it is what people want to do," said Allen. "We understand what's at stake every time we step on the field from here on out. We have a chance to do it, and our goal is to play Saturday, put our best foot forward and try to win a game."

"It's a big deal, man," added Poyer. "The guys had a great day of practice today, and we're going to continue to prep for Saturday, and guys understand what's at stake."

Benjamin Allbright from KOA Rado in Colorado joined WGR's Howard Simon and Jeremy White to discuss the matchup with the Broncos, and though Allbright believes the Bills are a true Super Bowl contender this year, be thinks Denver may be a more difficult challenge than many seem to think. As of Friday morning, the Bills are a touchdown favorite on the road.

"I just think this is the wrong game at the wrong time for Buffalo," said Allbright. "I think it's going to be a very, very close game, probably looking at a field goal-type game. If I'm a Buffalo fan, I just don't want to get my hopes set on clinching everything that we want to clinch this week. Looking at this Vegas spread, it's a little bit too high - I think it's a game Denver can win, but I think it will be a field goal football game and whoever gets the lucky bounce pulls this one out."
