Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - The Boulevard Plaza, located at 1579 Niagara Falls Blvd., and the neighboring site, the Boulevard – South District are adding a few new tenants to their list. In the last eight months, news broke that REI Co-op is opening its first local spot at the Boulevard in the former Christmas Tree Shop space and Shake Shack will open its first full-service location the Buffalo market at the Amherst plaza on the South District side.
Other big retail announcements from the Boulevard and its neighboring South District over the last few years include American Eagle Outfitters opening there, Sephora bringing its standalone concept, local boutique Research and Design arriving and four TJX Companies Inc. store brands – including two new ones Sierra and Homesense – moving in.
Buffalo came in 42nd on U.S. News & World Report's Best Places to Retire list, a jump from No. 59 in the 2024-25 list. Prior to that, Buffalo was 75th and 99th in the 2023-24 and 2022-23 lists, respectively. Buffalo ranked above Rochester, Syracuse and Albany.
