The Sept. 22 Buffalo Planning Board agenda looks to be a busy one - and that's a good economic development telltale sign.
On the agenda are a pair of D'Youville University projects including seeking city approval for its proposed $85 million-plus new College of Osteopathic Medicine, set for a building at 285 Delaware Avenue.
Acting Buffalo Mayor Chris Scanlon says the full agenda is a positive sign.
"It tells me the private sector has a certain level of confidence in Buffalo," Scanlon said. "I'll take that any time."
D'Youville is also on the agenda for a $30 million-plus, 218 unit student housing building on West Avenue while Clarence developers, R.N. McNamara, are seeking approval for the proposed $50 million, Diamond Lofts apartments at 1448 Main Street.
Also on the agenda:
* A proposed expansion of Sorento Lactalis cheese making plant on South Park Avenue.
* Developers are planning a 20-unit apartment complex at 303 Lafayette Avenue.
"These are all good signs for Buffalo," Scanlon said.
The planning board begins at 4 p.m. in Buffalo City Hall.
