
Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - Eight companies have been chosen as finalists in this year's 43North startup competition. They include:
- Cellsense, a company that uses algae to eliminate microplastics in clothes and cosmetics
- Cosi Care, who created the world’s first medical devices that offer instant itch relief for those living with eczema or any chronic itch
- Floe, which developed eco-friendly treatments for icy roofs
- AI hiring company Flye Connect
- Buffalo's Integral Health, which uses AI in behavioral health and primary care
- Kinometrix and RadEmploy, which use AI to make healthcare more efficient
- Tukki.ai, which helps immigrants and companies manage visas and green cards more efficiently.
The Finals are Thursday night at 6 p.m. at Shea's.
Mary Wilson will be honored with the Buffalo Hearing & Speech Center's 2025 Community Impact Award at its Great Gatsby Gala this Saturday at the Hyatt Regency in Buffalo. The award will recognize Wilson's philanthropic work through the Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Foundation.
Lumsden McCormick Principal Accountant Kerry Roets has been appointed to the Board of Directors of Preservation Buffalo Niagara. Roets has a focus in real estate taxation and historic tax credits.
And the SPCA Serving Erie County is spotlighting its biggest boys and girls this month. For the rest of October, all big mutts weighing 44 pounds or more are 50% off at the SPCA's West Seneca location in Harlem Road.
