M&T Provides SBA Lending Report

Although approved by the Buffalo Planning Board last month, Business First reports Montante Solar is halting work on its Unity Island solar farm. Montante Solar President Daniel Montante citing the public outcry as the reason for the stoppage. The solar farm is intended to service the Buffalo Sewer Authority's main plant in a $5 million project.

M&T Bank ranked fifth in the nation for the Small Business Administration’s fiscal year 2020.  The bank extended 1,110 loans for a total of $157 million over the course of the year.  This is funding outside of M&T’s efforts through the Paycheck Protection Program, where M&T helped more than 35,000 small businesses acquire more than $7 billion in critical funding.

The Seneca Gaming Corporation Board of Directors has appointed Kevin Nephew as the company’s President & CEO.

Swedish retailer Ikea is beginning a global buyback program next month of unwanted Ikea furniture to encourage customers to take a stand against excessive consumption.  The New York Times noting the program is available in 27 countries including Canada - but will not be available in the U-S.
