The US Army Corps of Engineers, Buffalo District is spending over $14 million to construct a stone breakwater in the abandoned Shipping Slip 3 in Buffalo's Outer Harbor. Michigan-based Ryba Marine Construction Co. has been contracted to complete the project.

Destination Niagara USA has been awarded $1.2 million in Cares Act Funds from the federal government. The funds will be used to help the Lake Ontario fishing industry recover from COVID-19 related losses.

A popular East Aurora restaurant is re-opening. Riley Street Station is coming back after closing last October. The restaurant will retain a nearly identical menu and design. The new ownership hopes to reopen the restaurant by this fall.
