Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) – The Buffalo Public School District has placed a teacher from West Hertel Academy on administrative leave. There is no word on the nature of the incident involving the teacher, which is under investigation by the Buffalo Police Department.
A district spokesperson confirmed the teacher was placed on administrative leave on May 12.
WBEN received a statement from the Buffalo Teachers Federation:
"While the Federation cannot comment on an active police investigation, I will stress that the safety of the students whom our members serve is our highest priority. The Federation will cooperate in any way with this investigation so that our students are protected and their safety is ensured."
