Arrest made in shots fired incident at Tops parking lot along Jefferson Avenue

Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - Buffalo police have made an arrest in connection with a shots fired call at the Tops Friendly Market on Jefferson Avenue back on Feb. 7.

34-year-old Allen Belton of Buffalo has been charged with one felony count of Reckless Endangerment in the First Degree, as well as one misdemeanor count Criminal Possession of a Weapon for his alleged involvement in the incident.

At around 3:05 p.m. on Feb. 7, C District officers responded to the call of shots fired at the Tops that was the site of the racially motivated mass shooting nack on May 14, 2022. It is alleged that multiple vehicles in the parking lot shot at each other before fleeing the scene.

As a part of the investigation, three vehicles were impounded, and several individuals were interviewed. Belton was one of the identified suspects that turned himself into police Tuesday morning.
