Buffalo, NY (WBEN) The lot where the historic Mulligan's Brick Bar once stood is going up for sale. The asking price is $180,000, which according to one real estate expert, is a good price.
"I think that's a fair price," says Peter Hunt of Hunt Real Estate, who adds it's an excellent location in Allentown. "What's attractive about it, among other things, is it's an entertainment district, as well as being a very densely populated residential area, it tends to attract an eclectic crowd of demographics. And it's been a kind of an interesting and healthy neighborhood," adds Hunt.
Hunt predicts the neighborhood itself will remain the same over the next few years. "There's always a new restaurant popping up in Allentown. There's always a new night spot, entertainment, music and a walkable community that has a very diverse population. I think it's exciting for the people that live there," notes Hunt.
What could go up on that lot? "You're going to see is probably a building with retail on the first floor and perhaps residential above that. Retail could take the form of a store or also could take the form of a restaurant or even a night spot," says Hunt. He says an art gallery is also possible.
Mulligan's Brick Bar was destroyed by fire in January.
