
Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - Buffalo firefighters battled a 2-alarm fire on Walter Street for more than two hours early Thursday morning.
Firefighters responded to 116 Walter Street around 3:44 a.m. The 2 1/2-story structure has been deemed a total loss, sustaining $280,000 in damage and displacing five residents.
Two neighboring homes at 114 and 118 Walter Street were also damaged. The fire caused roof and siding damage at both homes. There was also interior damage from smoke at the 114 property.
The fire wasn't brought under control until around 5:53 a.m. No injuries have been reported.
The five people who were displaced - all adults - are being assisted by the American Red Cross.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
