Buffalo, N.Y (WBEN) - Standing outside Erie County Medical Center on Friday, Buffalo Sewer Authority general manager O.J. McFoy, alongside CWA president Salvatore Falzone and CWA representative Michael Pettigrew, provided an update on the two Sewer Authority employees that remain hospitalized after being shot while driving on the I-190 Southbound on Thursday morning.

Another Sewer Authority employee that was in the vehicle that was shot multiple times died as a result of his injuries at the scene.

"This is a tough thing for the Buffalo Sewer Authority. It is a tough thing for our city," said McFoy after speaking with the families of the victims at ECMC. "Right now, what we know is we have one still in critical condition, we have one in stable condition, and we have a young man that is no longer with us. His life was taken on the 190, at 22 years old, and my heart breaks for that young man and for all of us, that have to carry this trauma forward."

New York State Troopers troopers released the names of the victims early Friday morning: Keyshawn N. Gault, 22 of Buffalo, died at the scene, while driver Myron L. Walker, 30 of Buffalo, and backseat passenger Lamar T. Whitfield Jr., 23 of Buffalo, were taken to ECMC with gunshot wounds.

Pettigrew confirms that Walker is in stable condition and Whitfield Jr. is in critical condition. Pettigrew spoke with Walker.

"We are all heartbroken, and it's going to take a lot for us to get over this," said Pettigrew. "He's doing good. He's in good spirits, but he's, he's taken on a lot. They both [have]."

Anyone with additional information regarding this shooting, including dash cam footage, is asked to contact New York State Police at (585)-344-6200.
