Orchard Park, N.Y. (WBEN) Seven construction workers have been identified in connection with pornographic graffiti discovered earlier this week inside the new Highmark Stadium, a source close to the investigation tells WBEN.
The vandalism was found in both finished and unfinished areas of the stadium that require security clearance, including luxury suites. Construction was suspended for four days following the discovery.
Sources say three of the seven have already confessed to taking part in the vandalism. Charges have not yet officially been filed. A spokesperson for the Erie County Sheriff's office tells WBEN the investigation is ongoing.
Work resumed at the stadium on Friday. The stadium is set to be completed on schedule this summer.
Gilbane | Turner, the construction management team for the project, offered a $100,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.
