BUFFALO, N.Y. (WBEN) - The Franklinville man accused of a hate crime on Hertel Avenue in Buffalo in August will have his case go to a grand jury.
Michael Cremen appeared in-person at Buffalo City Court for the first time since the August 28 encounter with Black Lives Matter protesters, where the Chautauqua County man hurled racial slurs and brandished a knife.
Cremen was arrested on Monday night by New York State Police and appeared virtually in Buffalo City Court the following day. He posted bail and was in court again on Friday for a hearing over his previous two failures to appear in court in October.
Because Cremen appeared in court, prosecutors felt there was no need remand him any further. A felony hearing is scheduled for January 13, though Flynn said his case will likely go to a grand jury before then.
